Search a town, or use your location. Each dot is a sensor. Tap one to see the dust in the air there.

Fine dust in the air near you, measured by people who run their own sensors and publish the readings for anyone to use.

Questions people ask

What is PM2.5?

Dust and droplets smaller than 2.5 micrometres, small enough to breathe in. The number is micrograms in a cubic metre of air. The colour follows the US air-quality scale, from green (clean) to maroon (hazardous).

Why is there nothing near my town?

These are volunteer sensors, thick on the ground in some cities and absent in others. If the map is empty, there is no sensor in the Sensor.Community network within 200 kilometres, not a promise that the air is clean.

Readings: Sensor.Community contributors, shown with attribution. The colour scale is the US EPA air-quality index.
