Why isn't the gold price moving every second?
A live trading price is almost always copyrighted, or sold as a feed. What Sureno can publish is the World Bank's monthly average, the same table that also holds oil, wheat, copper and coffee. The month is written on the page.
Are these what I would pay in a shop?
No. These are world benchmark prices: a barrel of oil, a tonne of wheat, an ounce of gold. A shop price also includes shipping, tax and the seller's margin. For US shop prices since 1980, use the price time machine.
