The rail opens beside what you are reading. Ask about a paragraph you have highlighted, or the whole page, and stay exactly where you were.

Select any word, line or paragraph and ask about it. The page does not move, nothing is copied to another tab, and the answer appears next to the thing it is about.
- Answers arrive beside the page, not on top of it
- Follow-up questions keep the same page in view
- Close the rail and the browser is a plain Chromium browser again
You can see what it is about to read
Above the input there are context chips: the selection, the page, the project. They show what will be included before you press send, and they are switches, not decoration. Health context is off until you deliberately turn it on.

- Point it at a local model and nothing leaves the Mac
About the assistant
Does the assistant read pages in the background?
No. It has no access to a page until you open the rail and ask something on that page. There is no ambient summarising, no pre-fetching of what you might ask, and nothing sent while you scroll.
What exactly gets sent when I do ask?
The question, and whichever context chips you have left switched on — typically the selected text or the readable body of the current page. The chips are visible above the input before you send, and you can turn any of them off for that question.
Can I run it against a local model?
Yes. Settings → AI accepts an Ollama or other local endpoint, in which case nothing leaves your machine at all. The default build ships with a mock provider so a fresh install talks to nobody until you choose a provider.
Does it give medical or legal advice?
It will answer questions, and it is wrong sometimes, like every model. The health pages are explicitly opt-in and say plainly that they are not medical advice. Treat it as a fast reader, not an authority.
