Brown tips and crispy edges
Brown tips usually mean dry air, a pot that dried out too far, or minerals in the water. The brown part will not turn green. Fix the cause and trim only the dead edge if you want the leaf to look tidy.
A crisp tip with an otherwise firm leaf is a scar, not a reason to soak the plant the same day. Check whether the rootball shrank from the pot, whether the room is very dry, and whether you are using heavily softened water. Spider plants are a special case: fluoride in tap water is a known reason their tips burn. Cut the brown with clean scissors if it bothers you, leaving a thin margin of brown so you do not cut living tissue.
