Drooping houseplant leaves
Droop can mean thirst or roots that are too rotten to drink. Feel the soil before you add water. Wet soil plus limp leaves is not a cue to water again.
A peace lily flops dramatically when it is thirsty and usually stands back up after a drink. Most other houseplants are quieter. If the mix is dry and the pot feels light, water it and give it an hour. If the mix is wet, smells sour, or the stems are soft, more water makes it worse. Slide the plant out. Healthy roots are firm. Brown, mushy roots should be cut back, and the plant should go into fresh, drier mix.
