Care through the year
Spring
Ask your vet about flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Many dogs start shedding their winter coat. Brush more often during the heavy shed.
Summer
Never leave a pet in a parked car. Walk in the cool of the day; hot pavement burns paws.
Autumn
Keep Halloween candy and chocolate out of reach.
Winter
Wipe paws after walks to remove salt and antifreeze. Short-coated and small dogs may need a coat.
