Care through the year
Spring
Ask your vet about flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Many dogs start shedding their winter coat.
Summer
Very sensitive to heat: walk early or late, keep it cool and never leave it in a car.
Autumn
Keep Halloween candy and chocolate out of reach.
Winter
Wipe paws after walks to remove salt and antifreeze. Short-coated and small dogs may need a coat.
