    Questions and answers

    Which hash should I use?

SHA-256 for anything that matters. MD5 and SHA-1 are still used to check downloads, but they are no longer safe against a determined attacker.

    Can a hash be decoded?

No. It is a fingerprint, not encryption. The same text always gives the same hash; you cannot get the text back from it.

    Is my text uploaded?

No. The hashes are worked out in your browser.
