Colts Hold Firm on Jonathan Taylor as Trade Deadline Nears

Taylor’s future remains uncertain
NFL insider James Palmer said he understands Taylor expects to be traded, according to Alex House of ClutchPoints. Palmer added that a deal may depend on whether a team meets Indianapolis’ high asking price.
Colts reportedly seek major return
The Colts may be looking for the equivalent of a first-round draft pick in exchange for Taylor. The team reportedly intends to wait until after Sunday’s game against the 3-5 Dallas Cowboys before reconsidering offers. According to the report, Indianapolis could make trades it considers suitable on Monday or Tuesday, ahead of the deadline.
Giants and Vikings linked
Vacchiano reported that the Giants badly want Taylor. A source told him that first-year New York head coach John Harbaugh is thinking big with the team at 4-2-1.
Williams argued that Minnesota could pursue Taylor amid pressure on head coach Kevin O’Connell to satisfy wide receiver Justin Jefferson and get the offense working. Williams cited a so-so first half of the season from Kyler Murray.
Williams also said Vikings general manager Nolan Teasley recognizes the value of a dynamic running back. He described Minnesota as the most desperate team in the NFC North, which he called the league’s most competitive division.
