He Won’t Return: Adam Driver Breaks Silence on Girls Revival, Reveals His Decision

Driver addresses the revival

Driver made his first public comments about the Girls revival while doing press for Paper Tiger. Asked whether he would reprise his role as Adam Sackler, he said he would not return.

The HBO revival is due next year and is planned as a limited five-episode run. Five members of the original cast are confirmed to return.

Paper Tiger premiere

Driver attended the Paper Tiger premiere on Thursday night, November 5, at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. He is promoting the film, which also stars Miles Teller.

Teller was at the premiere, while their co-star Scarlett Johansson was absent. The film reunites Johansson and Driver after they appeared together in Marriage Story, playing a couple going through a difficult divorce.

A family drawn into crime

Set in New York in 1986, Paper Tiger follows engineer Irwin, played by Teller. His brother Gary, played by Driver, draws him into a business deal involving Russian criminals.

The scheme threatens Irwin’s marriage, children and sense of loyalty. Paper Tiger opens in select U.S. theaters on November 13 and expands nationwide on November 20.
