Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake: How to Change Time for Quests and Exploration

Resting to Set the Time
Green-covered beds found in village houses, tents and other makeshift locations let players change the time of day. After selecting a bed, players can choose to sleep until morning or night.
The choice matters because some quests require meeting characters after dark, while other characters or requirements are available only during daylight. Beds provide a way to adjust the schedule while exploring.
A Hall Beyond the Beds
A third bed option leads to the Hall of Fallen Heroes, which allows players to revisit boss and miniboss battles. Speaking to the owl Kaepora Gaebora’s statue on the lowest floor starts a boss-rush-style minigame introduced in the remake.
The hall becomes available a few hours into the game. A feathery green aura around a bed signals that this option is available.
Changing Time With Music
After obtaining Zelda’s Lullaby, players acquire the Sun’s Song during the main story. Playing it changes the time from day to night immediately. The song is useful when players are away from a bed, including while exploring the open world. Some quests take time to complete, and the Sun’s Song can help with certain puzzles, though it has limited use inside dungeons.
