Millions of Bodum USA coffee makers sold at Target and Walmart recalled due to burn risk

Reports of Breakage and Burns
The glass carafes may break unexpectedly if they are cracked or damaged. The safety agency said damage can occur when metal spoons are used to stir coffee. Bodum USA said the reported breakage rate during use is extremely low compared with the millions of products sold in the United States over decades. The company said the recall is intended to encourage safe use.
Models and Retailers Affected
The recall covers several Bodum USA models, including 8-cup French presses and 12-cup Bistro, Brazil, Caffettiera, Chambord, Crema, Java, Jesper and Kenya models. The recall number is 27-055. The coffee makers were sold on Amazon.com, at Target and Walmart, and through other retailers between 1974 and October 2026.
What Customers Should Do
