William’s Brewers Jersey: Willson Contreras Arrives to Support Brother at World Series Game 5

A Brother’s Show of Support

Willson Contreras traded his Red Sox colors for Brewers blue to back his younger brother, William, on baseball’s biggest stage. The veteran reportedly flew from Hawaii on Wednesday and wore William’s Brewers jersey.

William is Milwaukee’s catcher, and the Brewers faced the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5 at Tropicana Field. The game came after Tampa Bay won Tuesday in the 12th inning, forcing the series to continue.

Milwaukee Holds Series Lead

The Brewers entered Wednesday’s game ahead 3-1 in the World Series. A victory would put them one win from the title. The Rays’ extra-inning win kept their hopes alive and set up the fifth game.

Shared Championship This Year

The Contreras brothers already shared a championship in March, when both played for Venezuela’s World Baseball Classic-winning team. Venezuela beat the United States 3-2 in Miami. A World Series victory would put William, Jackson Chourio and Antonio Senzatela among players who won both the WBC and World Series in one year. Alex Bregman and Luke Gregerson achieved that in 2017.
