Fury in California After Trump Suggests Iran Could ‘Take Out’ L.A. or San Diego

President Donald Trump drew criticism in California after suggesting at a campaign rally in Nebraska that Iran could “take out” Los Angeles or San Diego.

Gov. Gavin Newsom rebuked Trump over the remarks, according to CBS News.

San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria also objected, writing on X that the city should not be treated as expendable or as an acceptable cost of war.

Los Angeles is home to the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command headquarters and several aerospace companies. The San Diego area includes major military installations, including Naval Amphibious Base Coronado.
