Tribute to former Kirkcudbright schoolboy killed in Ukraine

Arkadii, who attended Kirkcudbright Academy, returned to Ukraine to fight and was killed on the country’s eastern frontline.
His mother said the family learned on 22 September that he had died during a combat mission on 18 September. He was two days short of his 21st birthday.
Before returning to Ukraine, he spent a year studying in Edinburgh. His mother said he felt unable to carry on with ordinary life while others defended his homeland.
The family travelled from Scotland to Ukraine after his death to organise his funeral. His mother said she wanted his life and name to be remembered.
