Fix a door that sticks or rubs
Most sticking doors are hanging a little low because a hinge screw is loose. Tightening or lengthening one screw often fixes it.
Tools you need
- Screwdriver
- One 3-inch wood screw
- Pencil

Steps
Close the door slowly and look for where it rubs: usually the top corner on the latch side.
Open the door and tighten every screw in every hinge.
If a screw just spins, replace one screw in the top hinge (the one nearest the middle of the door frame) with a 3-inch screw that reaches the wall framing. It pulls the door back up.
Close the door again and check the gap is even.
