Check and fill tire pressure

The right pressure makes the car safer and saves fuel. The number to use is on a sticker inside the driver's door, not on the tire.

Steps

  1. Check the tires cold, before driving or after the car has been parked for a few hours.

  2. Find the recommended pressure on the sticker inside the driver's door frame (or in the owner's manual).

  3. Unscrew the cap on the tire's valve and press the gauge straight on. Read the number.

  4. If it is low, add air in short bursts and check again until it matches the sticker.

  5. Put the valve cap back. Check all four tires, and the spare if you have one.
