Replace windshield wiper blades

Streaky or squeaky wipers are worn. New blades clip on in a few minutes; the store can look up the right size for your car.

Steps

  1. Look up the sizes for your car on the blade packaging, in the store's book or in the manual. The two sides are often different lengths.

  2. Lay a folded towel on the windshield in case the metal arm snaps back.

  3. Lift the wiper arm away from the glass.

  4. Press the small tab where the blade meets the arm and slide the old blade off.

  5. Slide the new blade on until it clicks, and lower the arm gently onto the glass.

  6. Repeat on the other side and test with washer fluid.
