Region Title at Stake as Parkview Visits North Gwinnett in Georgia High School Football

Region title within reach

The 7-2 Panthers travel to face 8-1 North Gwinnett in a matchup of two leading Region 7-7A programs. Both have 4-1 region records, and Friday’s game carries consequences for the championship and playoff positioning.

A Parkview victory would give the Panthers their first region championship since 2019. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. EST at Tom Robinson Stadium, at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee. The game will be streamed on the NFHS Network.

Parkview’s balanced offense

In his second year as coach, Adam Clack has overseen a sharp turnaround for Parkview. The Panthers average 44 points per game and are coming off a 55-21 win over Norcross, in which they gained 519 total yards.

Quarterback Greg Hart has passed for 1,854 yards and 23 touchdowns, completing 70.6% of his throws. Receiver Christian Ema has 737 yards and nine touchdowns, while running back Zandon Mullins has rushed for 933 yards.

Bulldogs bring strong form

North Gwinnett uses two quarterbacks: Elam Rahman has thrown for 1,469 yards and 17 touchdowns, while Banks Halcomb has 488 passing yards and eight touchdowns. Linebacker Jake Godfree leads the Bulldogs with 96 tackles. North Gwinnett beat Norcross 49-7 and enters Friday’s game on a two-win streak.

Coaching history adds intrigue

North Gwinnett coach Eric Godfree led Parkview from 2014 to 2022. He has won all three of his previous meetings with Clack. Parkview seeks to cap its turnaround with a region title, while North Gwinnett has home-field advantage and an experienced coaching staff. The matchup also gives both teams a chance to strengthen their playoff position.
