Siakam helps Pacers take down Grizzlies in a 107-103 road win

Siakam delivers late
Several Pacers starters returned Wednesday. Ivica Zubac was back after missing five games with an ankle injury, while Andrew Nembhard, Pascal Siakam and Aaron Nesmith returned after sitting out Monday’s game.
Siakam played 30 minutes and scored 20 points on 8-for-13 shooting. After a longer-than-usual fourth-quarter rest as Indiana monitored his workload, he returned late, made key shots and found Nesmith for a corner three with 13 seconds left.
Smith adds a spark
Tyler Smith started for the second straight game and recorded 10 points, five assists and two steals, shooting 5-for-9 from the field. The rookie also contributed on defense with multiple deflections. The story describes Smith as a hometown kid and says his strong week could matter for Indiana’s progress.
Defense fuels the win
Memphis entered the game as the NBA’s leading three-point shooting team, but the Pacers held the Grizzlies to 12-for-44 from beyond the arc. Indiana also showed energy defending and competing for loose balls.
Jarace Walker, Quenton Jackson and Jalen Slawson made important hustle plays in the second half. The game account also noted an alley-oop from Jackson to Obi Toppin.
Indiana shares the load
Nembhard led Indiana with 22 points. Six players scored in double figures, and 12 players appeared as the Pacers earned what the account called a collective win. Indiana is 3-2 on the road and 0-4 at home this season. The Pacers are scheduled to travel to Mexico City to face the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
