Beau Lamarre-Condon trial: accused double murderer gives evidence in high-profile Sydney case

Evidence in Sydney court

Lamarre-Condon, 31, took the witness stand in the high-profile case. The former officer faces charges over the deaths of Baird and Davies. Prosecutors allege that he fatally shot the couple at Baird’s home in Paddington using his police service weapon. He denies two counts of murder and a charge of aggravated break and enter.

Account of colleague’s death

While discussing experiences involving dead bodies, Lamarre-Condon described a co-worker who died by suicide at work. He told the court their last conversation had seemed ordinary. He said the colleague went to a desk, took out a gun while off duty and shot himself. The court heard that co-workers later found him.

Allegations about supervisor

Lamarre-Condon also accused a former supervisor of making homophobic comments while he was an openly gay police officer. He described remarks he said the supervisor made about gay people.

He further alleged that, during a response to a domestic violence report, the supervisor used a homophobic slur. The claims were presented as Lamarre-Condon’s account in court.
