East of al-Hazm, Yemeni government forces seize strategic positions in Jawf amid Houthi claims

Counteroffensive in al-Jawf
The government says its forces regained military sites and strategic heights east of al-Hazm. The army’s media centre said on Saturday that the 1st Emergency Brigade took weapons and ammunition depots during the operation.
According to the media centre, Houthi fighters were wounded, killed or captured, and armoured vehicles were destroyed. The Houthis gave a different account, saying they had halted government advances in al-Jawf and neighbouring Marib.
Taiz fighting and supply limits
Government forces said they repelled Houthi attacks at al-Aqroudh, southeast of Taiz, and along the Tur al-Baha front in neighbouring Lahij governorate. Houthi-affiliated media separately reported two air strikes on an oil company facility in Bajil district, Hodeidah governorate.
Yemeni media published videos showing what they described as the first medical-aid shipment from Marib, intended for wounded people, displaced families and other residents. Further deliveries were reportedly delayed by road closures.
Displacement and humanitarian concerns
The UN refugee agency warned that conditions are worsening for more than 65,000 refugees and asylum seekers in Yemen. It cited disrupted services and rising food and fuel prices as pressures on those communities.
