TVLine’s 10 Best Animated TV Shows Streaming on Prime Video, Ranked by Their Distinctive Worlds

A darker superhero spin-off

The Boys Presents: Diabolical arrived in 2022 as the first animated spin-off of The Boys. Its anthology format visits different corners of the superhero world, with stories that are mostly separate from the main series’ events.

Episodes mix graphic violence with comedy, including a Looney Tunes parody and a story drawing directly on the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The voice cast includes Don Cheadle and Frances Conroy.

Medicine beyond Earth

The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy ran for two seasons, from 2024 to 2025. Its central characters are alien surgeons Nak Nak Sleech, voiced by Stephanie Hsu, and Klak, voiced by Keke Palmer.

The doctors face unusual cases involving phenomena such as temporal loops and cerebral parasites. Alongside the science-fiction comedy, the series considers the emotional strain on its characters; Cirocco Dunlap created the show.

Time, memory and animation

Undone uses rotoscoping, an animation technique that gives the series a distinctive appearance. The 2019 story begins after Alma Winograd-Diaz, played by Rosa Salazar, survives a serious car crash and seemingly gains the ability to move through time.

Alma uses that ability while investigating her father’s death, and Bob Odenkirk voices her father, Jacob. Raphael Bob-Waksberg, co-creator of the series, previously created BoJack Horseman for Netflix.

A sequel enters the lineup

The Mighty Nein is a standalone sequel to The Legend of Vox Machina. It debuted in 2025 and takes place 20 years after that series.
