Back in Hulu’s Top 10, Ridley Scott’s Near-Perfect Series Is Officially a Streaming Hit Before Season 2

Scott’s Alien connection

Scott has remained involved with the Alien franchise, even while spending years away from directing its projects. His Scott Free production company was among the leading producers of Alien: Romulus, and he is also involved with the franchise’s first television series, Alien: Earth.

After Alien: Covenant in 2017, many fans believed Scott was finished directing Alien films, in part because he had said so. During the press tour for The Dog Stars, he said he was returning to the franchise for a new movie featuring Michael Fassbender’s David. He also described Alien: Romulus as “just ok.”

Season two takes shape

Alien: Earth debuted its first season in 2025. A few months after the season wrapped up, the studio announced that the series had been renewed for Season 2.

Production on the new season is underway. The show is not expected to return until 2027, leaving time for viewers to revisit the first season before its next chapter.

Viewers return to Hulu

As fans rewatch Alien: Earth, the series has surged back into Hulu’s top 10. The renewed viewing comes ahead of Season 2 and follows the show’s first-season run. Scott’s involvement links the television series to his wider work in the franchise, including his role as a producer on Alien: Romulus.
