Netflix’s Western Miniseries Is Officially a Certified Streaming Hit as Views Surge

A surge in its second week

Netflix’s literary adaptation made a major jump in its second week, despite competition from two new high-profile releases. Nielsen’s latest figures cover streaming titles watched from October 5 to October 11.

The tracker recently shortened its reporting delay from four weeks to two, bringing its rankings closer to the current viewing period. Its latest list shows strong performance from the leading titles.

Carrie leads Nielsen rankings

The eight-part Carrie series, directed by Mike Flanagan, ranked first with 1.2 billion minutes watched. It has received strong reviews and holds an 85% “Certified Fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Below placed second, recording 1.18 billion minutes watched. The supernatural horror series has an 88% Rotten Tomatoes score; Netflix says it has gathered 38 million views in two weeks.

Competition across streaming charts

Prime Video’s Stephen King adaptation Carrie remains the platform’s top show worldwide, according to FlixPatrol. Nielsen’s figures separately place the series first among streaming titles for the reported week.

Prime Video’s Reacher held Nielsen’s top position throughout its run, before passing it to its spin-off, Neagley, in September. The latest rankings show Carrie ahead of Below by a narrow margin.
