Hull City's Lucas Gourna-Douath crashes near training ground

Hull City player Lucas Gourna-Douath was involved in a road collision close to the club's training base. Images from the location showed the vehicle resting on its side.

A witness told the BBC the car had also hit a vehicle belonging to a local resident, causing damage to that car.

The incident is the second within a three-week period involving a Hull player on the same street, following a similar crash involving a teammate.

Local resident Paul Nickerson said he got to the scene quickly after hearing the sound, arriving "just after it turned over".

Another resident, Tracey Evans, who has lived there for 19 years, said she has sought a lower speed limit for about a decade. She called for new measures to "avoid something happening in the future".

Key points

  • Car flipped onto side and damaged resident's parked vehicle.
  • Second Hull player crash on same road in three weeks.
  • Residents renew calls for lower speed limit and safety measures.
