Replace a showerhead
A new showerhead screws onto the pipe by hand or with a wrench. It is one of the easiest bathroom updates.
Tools you need
- New showerhead
- Adjustable wrench
- Plumber's tape (thread seal tape)
- Rag (to protect the finish)

Steps
Turn the shower off. Wrap a rag around the nut of the old head so the wrench does not scratch it.
Turn the old head counterclockwise to unscrew it.
Clean the threads on the pipe and wrap them two or three times with plumber's tape, clockwise.
Screw the new head on by hand, then a gentle quarter turn with the wrench.
Turn the shower on and check for drips at the joint. Tighten a little more if needed.
