    No. It is changed on your device.

    Why does my phone photo look sideways?

    Phones store a note saying which way up a photo is, and some programs ignore it. Turning it here fixes the picture itself.

    Will the quality drop?

    Turning by quarter turns keeps every pixel; the photo is only saved again as a new file.
