How to use it

Drop a photo with one clear subject, such as a person, a pet or a product, or click to choose one.
Press "Remove the background" and wait a few seconds.
Use "Erase" or "Bring back" to touch up any edges the tool got wrong.
Pick a clear, white or coloured background, then press "Download".

Questions and answers

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The cut-out is made by a small program that runs in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device.

Which photos work best?

One clear subject that stands out from a plainer background. Busy scenes, glass, fine hair and dark clothes on a dark background are harder, so use the brush to fix them.

Why is the first time slower?

Your browser downloads the cut-out program (about 5 MB) the first time. After that it is kept and starts faster.

What file do I get?

A PNG with a clear background, or a JPG when you choose a white or coloured background. Both keep the photo's size, up to 2,000 pixels across.
