Update your Android phone

The pictures are drawings of the screens, not screenshots. Your screen may look a little different.

   Step 1: Get ready

   Connect to Wi-Fi and charge the phone to at least 75%. Updates can be large.

   Step 2: Settings, System, Software updates

   Open Settings, tap System, then Software updates. Your update status is shown there.

   Step 3: Follow the steps on screen

   If an update is ready, follow the instructions. Some phones restart while installing.

Good to know: Older phones cannot always get the newest Android version. Update schedules depend on the phone maker and carrier.
