Steven Spielberg’s Thriller Is Officially Prime Video’s King After 100 Days

A long-awaited return

Spielberg returned to science fiction with Disclosure Day after an eight-year absence. The first-contact film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor and Colin Firth. Expectations were high for the project, but reviews were mixed. One critic called its underlying story weak and its structure poorly conceived; another described it as a disappointment.

Streaming success continues

Despite that critical response, Disclosure Day has remained popular since arriving on streaming. At the time of writing, it had spent more than 100 days on Amazon’s U.S. charts. The chart leader is Verity, a new arrival starring Anne Hathaway and adapted from Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name.

A crowded sci-fi year

Another major genre release is approaching: Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three is scheduled for December 18, 2026. The film concludes his trilogy and adapts Dune Messiah. Timothée Chalamet returns as Paul Atreides, facing the consequences of his power and the holy war fought in his name. The cast also includes Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson and Anya Taylor-Joy.
