Authorities: Secret Service Finds Man Parked Near White House With Multiple Firearms; He Is Arrested

Officer approaches vehicle near White House

A Secret Service officer on patrol saw a blue Ford F-150 on Constitution Avenue shortly before midnight Thursday, according to an affidavit filed in D.C. Superior Court. The vehicle was parked near the White House complex and had been reported stolen, according to the complaint.

The officer tapped on the window and asked Guanipa-Chrinos if he was all right and whether he had weapons. The affidavit says he nodded and made a finger-gun gesture.

Firearms and alleged threat

Investigators reported finding a MAC-10 machine pistol, a Glock 43x pistol and an AR-15 rifle inside the vehicle. DHS also said there were dozens of rounds of ammunition.

DHS said Guanipa-Chrinos told officers he heard voices directing him to travel to Washington, D.C., and kill President Trump. The court affidavit does not contain those alleged remarks.

Court appearance and background

After leaving the vehicle, Guanipa-Chrinos allegedly used Google Translate to tell investigators he had taken a gun from people who tried to kill him with it, according to the affidavit. He said it was in a brown bag, the document states.

He appeared in D.C. Superior Court on Friday and remains detained without bond, according to online court records. DHS said he is undocumented and entered the United States through Texas in 2024.
