Rangers Add Two Home Exhibition Games to 2027 Spring Training Schedule

Two Games at Globe Life Field

Texas announced the two exhibition dates on Thursday while releasing game times for its 2027 spring schedule. The Rangers will host the White Sox on March 22 at 7:10 p.m. CT and March 23 at 1:10 p.m. CT.

Spring Schedule in Arizona

The Rangers are scheduled to open their spring slate on Feb. 19 against the Kansas City Royals at the teams’ shared facility in Surprise, Arizona. The article gives the start time as 12:53 p.m. Mountain and says that is 1:35 p.m. Central, but those two listed times do not match.

Most of Texas’ home spring games will be played during the day, while some road-game times remain unset. The team has five night games listed, including dates against Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco and Kansas City.

Labor Talks Cloud Plans

MLB and the MLB Players Association are aiming to avoid a work stoppage in early December. If they do not reach a new collective bargaining agreement by Dec. 1, owners are expected to lock out players, bringing baseball business to a halt.

The article says a work stoppage is widely expected and that owners appear intent on implementing a salary cap, which players oppose. The previous CBA negotiations, in the 2021–22 offseason, resulted in a work stoppage, a shortened spring training and a regular season that began close to on time.
