A Viral X Joke Drew 412,000 Views, With a London Kevin Durant Fan Mistaken for a Burner

A joke spreads online
On Nov. 5, X user Drew, who posts as @ThunderHusky17, shared a joking claim that an account belonged to Durant. The post quickly attracted more than 412,000 views as users discussed whether the Rockets player was behind it.
The account, called UKD and identified as @Kfo1234567, had defended Durant in a discussion involving Oklahoma City Thunder supporters and podcaster Nick Stoeckel. Its owner later said he was an ordinary fan who liked Durant.
Why fans made the connection
UKD challenged criticism of Durant and questioned whether critics objected to him faulting the Thunder’s front office over the Harden trade. The account’s emphatic tone and focus on Oklahoma City prompted Drew’s joke, which some Thunder fans said sounded like Durant defending himself.
The suspicion drew on Durant’s past online controversy. In 2017, while with Golden State, he appeared to post criticism of Oklahoma City and coach Billy Donovan from his main account while referring to himself in the third person; he later acknowledged the posts and apologized.
The fan responds, debate continues
UKD responded to the attention by saying he was from London, had just returned from work and simply rated Durant. He also thanked users for the attention, saying the post had brought him 100 new followers.
The joke also touched on the 2012 trade that sent Harden from Oklahoma City to Houston. Durant said on the Mind the Game podcast in 2025 that the team had exceeded expectations in 2011-12 and said, “We sped up the timeline, all of us.” Thunder fans and Durant supporters continue to disagree over the trade and his comments.
