Exclusive: Halle Berry Leaning on Incredibly Supportive Fiancé Van Hunt During Difficult Child Custody Fight With Olivier Martinez

Hunt’s Support During Dispute

A source told Page Six that Hunt has been a steady presence for Berry during the custody case and restraining-order proceedings. The source described the period as difficult and stressful, and said Hunt had offered reassurance and strength.

Hunt also testified for Berry during closed-door proceedings at Los Angeles Superior Court last month. Berry’s daughter Nahla, 18, whom she shares with Gabriel Aubry, also testified in support of her mother.

Court Ruling On Restraining Order

On Oct. 29, the judge ended the temporary order and denied Martinez’s request to make it permanent. Martinez nevertheless retained primary physical custody, while Berry’s visits remained limited to daytime and excluded overnight stays.

Each Side’s Claims And Requests

Berry denied Martinez’s allegations through her attorney, Marina Beck. Beck previously characterized the claims as “entirely meritless and deliberately misleading,” according to Page Six. Court documents show Berry’s legal team accused Martinez of disrupting Maceo’s education and therapeutic care and involving him in the legal conflict. Berry asked the court to dismiss the restraining-order request, end the temporary limits on her contact, grant her sole legal custody and restore the former 50-50 physical custody arrangement.

Berry’s representative did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment. The ruling was a partial win for Berry, who had sought to end the order and return to shared custody.
