Ghosts Fans Waiting for Season 6 Can Stream a Perfect 5-Season Replacement on Prime Video
Ghosts faces a longer wait
CBS has placed Ghosts’ upcoming Season 6 on its spring 2027 schedule, while still planning holiday specials. Rose McIver will miss the beginning of the season after recently welcoming her second child.
Ben Feldman’s Kyle has become a series regular, giving the ghosts another person to speak with. The show’s Halloween special aired October 29 and disclosed what happened to Pete Marino after the Season 5 cliffhanger; a two-part “Ghostmas” special is set for December 10, 2026.
McIver’s earlier supernatural role
Before playing Sam Arondekar in Ghosts, McIver starred in The CW’s iZombie. The series ran for five seasons after launching in 2015, with 71 episodes, and is now available on Prime Video.
McIver plays Olivia “Liv” Moore, a Seattle medical resident whose life changes after she becomes a zombie. She hides her condition and works in a morgue, where eating brains gives her memories and personality traits from the deceased.
A crime-solving zombie story
Liv uses those experiences to pose as a psychic and help Detective Clive Babineaux solve murders. Her boss, Ravi Chakrabarti, becomes her confidant and works to discover a cure.
The show also follows other zombies and the mystery behind the outbreak. Blaine DeBeers and Donald “Don E.” Eberhard operate a brain-selling syndicate, while the series combines comedy, police investigations and horror.
Two shows with shared ground
Ghosts centers on Sam and her husband, Jay, as they turn inherited Woodstone Manor in upstate New York into a bed-and-breakfast. After a head injury, Sam can see and communicate with the spirits living there.
Although iZombie’s Seattle setting and undead population differ from a haunted inn, both shows feature McIver and supernatural stories mixed with comedy. iZombie is adapted from the comic created by Mike Allred and Chris Roberson, with Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Rob Thomas developing the television version.
