Election night fail: Trump staffers order Cheesecake Factory amid grim results

Dinner as votes were counted
Pete Doocy reported that some White House officials met in the East Room for an election-night viewing reception. Other staffers chose to order dinner from The Cheesecake Factory.
The meal drew attention because of an earlier remark by Barack Obama about renovations at the White House. Obama had joked that Trump made the building look as if Saddam Hussein had opened a Cheesecake Factory.
Poll shows voter concerns
The official also said Trump was not on the ballot and argued that his supporters turn out when he is. Meanwhile, Trump criticized Fox News on Truth Social.
In the Fox News Voter Poll, 56 percent of voters said Trump was not a strong leader, while 44 percent considered him strong. On the country’s direction, 38 percent said they were angry and 37 percent dissatisfied; 18 percent were satisfied and 7 percent enthusiastic.
Restaurant feud draws notice
Some MAGA supporters objected to Obama’s comment, calling it an elitist dig at a chain many Americans regard as upscale. The exchange also brought attention to the restaurant itself.
Marin Richardson, chief executive of Disrupt PR, said the dispute benefited the brand. “Both sides are fighting over who loves it more,” Richardson said.
