At 2026 SEMA, slammed 55 chevy restomod packs a 598 cubic inch V-8 with 741 hp

Big power under the hood

BluePrint Engines supplied the crate V-8 for CAL Automotive Creations’ 1955 two-door Bel Air. The 598-cubic-inch engine produces 741 horsepower and 703 pound-feet of torque. A Bowler automatic gearbox is paired with the engine, which features deep red paint, an EFI intake, machined valve covers and fabricated stainless-steel headers. SpinTech mufflers carry its exhaust.

Custom body and stance

CAL reshaped the quarter panels, taillight bezels and front grille surround. The build also received specially made dark paint and bodywork, with nickel details from Advanced Plating. Leading Edge Machine and Design created one-off wheels to match the paint. A staggered wheel setup adds to the car’s aggressive appearance, alongside suspension upgrades and six-piston Baer brakes.

Classic cabin, modern equipment

CAL and Santana Interior Design worked on the cabin, which retains a classic appearance. Its billet-machined center console includes cupholders beneath a sliding armrest. Dakota digital instrumentation and Vintage Air climate control add modern equipment. The Bel Air was among the custom builds displayed at the 2026 SEMA show.
