After 17 months missing, Utah teen found safe in Oregon; man detained

Teen located in Oregon
FBI Salt Lake City and the Rich County Sheriff’s Department located Arellano in Oregon on November 1, 2026, the FBI said. A 39-year-old man was with her and was detained in connection with her disappearance.
Mother denies abuse allegation
Search warrants reviewed by KUTV say Arellano alleged in 2024 that her mother choked her. Kaye denies abusing her child. Police said the documents noted what appeared to be blood in the home. Kaye said Arellano’s cat had fought with neighborhood cats and returned wounded. “I know that this makes me look bad,” Kaye told the outlet, “but I've never abused my child.”
FBI warns online groups
The Department of Homeland Security defines gore networks as online groups that distribute violent real-life material, including child sexual abuse material, murder, suicide and animal cruelty. The department says predators use threats, blackmail and manipulation to target minors and vulnerable people.
