Cher responds after Michael Douglas says Glenn Close should have won the 1988 Oscar

Cher’s representative comments
A representative for Cher responded after Douglas said Close should have won the Best Actress Oscar for Fatal Attraction instead of Cher, who won for Moonstruck. The representative told Entertainment Weekly that Cher “adores Michael Douglas,” and did not add anything else about the matter.
Douglas explains his view
Douglas spoke about the award while appearing with Close on The Graham Norton Show. He said he thought Close “should have won” for Fatal Attraction, noting it was her fourth nomination by then. When Douglas pointed out that Cher won instead, host Graham Norton replied, “Oh wow.” Douglas answered, “I know, that’s what we all said!”
