Adele Zaikman Shares Why She’s Missing Disney Night on Dancing With the Stars

Zaikman announced on Nov. 1 that she was unwell and would sit out the next day’s opening number. She said she was sad to miss a show day but would focus on taking care of herself and cheer from home.

The 25-year-old earned a season 35 place by finishing first on Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro. After her week one exit with Connor Leavitt, she had continued performing during breaks as part of the eliminated group.

Friends offer support

Zaikman described herself as lucky to have friends helping her while she recovered. She said her friend Brenda brought honey, items to help with her cough, special teas and blueberry muffins.

Zaikman is expected to miss week eight. The other eliminated pros named for the live episode are Hailey Bills, Alan Bersten, Britt Stewart, Brandon Armstrong, Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess and Emma Slater.

Episode moved to Monday

Disney Night is scheduled for Nov. 2, and the episode will air live on Monday rather than the show’s usual Tuesday slot. The schedule was changed because of the midterm elections on Nov. 3. The article says Zaikman will miss the episode, while her fellow eliminated pros will perform during the show.

Zaikman’s relationship with Genkin

Zaikman also found a relationship through The Next Pro. About a month after the show’s Aug. 31 finale, it became known that she and fellow contestant Allen Genkin were dating.

Zaikman told E! News in October that she felt Genkin was one of the kindest people she had met. She said their friendship came first, giving them trust before their relationship became romantic.
