No. 7 on Paramount+: John Krasinski’s 144-Minute Action Thriller Instantly Conquers a New Streaming Home

A Paramount+ Top 10 Arrival
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is climbing Paramount+’s U.S. Top 10 movies ranking. On November 2, it stood at No. 7, below One Mile: Chapter One, Dracula, One Mile: Chapter Two, Hanging by a Wire, Rush Hour and Scary Movie.
It ranked ahead of We’re the Millers, Norbit and The Get Out. The film’s appearance on the service has brought a new audience to Krasinski’s action role.
The Film’s Benghazi Story
The film earned a 51% Rotten Tomatoes score and became one of Bay’s lowest-grossing movies. Despite that reception, it became a turning point in how audiences saw Krasinski’s screen career.
From Comedy To Action
Krasinski was widely known as Jim Halpert on The Office, which ran from 2005 to 2013. He also appeared in films including Leatherheads, Away We Go, It’s Complicated and Something Borrowed.
After 13 Hours, Krasinski starred as the title character in Prime Video’s action thriller Jack Ryan, which ran from 2018 to 2023. Bay was among the series’ executive producers.
Krasinski’s Continuing Career
Krasinski has also directed, co-written and starred alongside Emily Blunt in A Quiet Place, released in 2018, and returned to write and direct A Quiet Place Part II in 2020. Although Jack Ryan ended in 2023, the streaming service released a movie titled Jack Ryan: Ghost War this past May. The renewed attention to 13 Hours leaves open what Krasinski may do next with his range of roles.
