Olivia Colman’s rated fairy tale officially beats Street Fighter at the U.S. box office

Wicker climbs the rankings

On its second weekend, Wicker brought in another $4.1 million, following an opening weekend of $5.7 million. The fairy tale, based on The Wicker Husband by Ursula Wills, moved from fifth to fourth place in the U.S. rankings.

Its global total now stands at $13.4 million, though that figure excludes its opening haul in the UK. The film’s U.S. weekend revenue fell 28%, a modest drop compared with its previous weekend.

Street Fighter falls behind

Wicker’s weekend haul was larger than that of director Kitao Sakurai’s live-action Street Fighter movie. Street Fighter has continued to slide down the box office charts after a promising opening weekend.

Poor reviews have undercut that early performance, according to the report. Wicker, meanwhile, climbed one place in the U.S. rankings despite its second-weekend decline.

Clayface gives up first place

Clayface, DC’s body horror film, topped the box office charts last weekend but has now fallen to second. A24’s You Can See Everything has risen to first after spending two weekends in second place.

The documentary, co-directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, has earned more than $60 million despite not yet opening in most territories. It is also described as a possible first documentary nominee for Best Picture at the Academy Awards.
