November 2, 2026: What’s Next for Anime, from Fool Night to the iPad Mismatch
A Quieter Anime Month
With many major fall anime premieres already underway, November is described as a quieter month for new releases. The story still points viewers toward new Netflix animation and continuing series on Crunchyroll.
Netflix is set to release the adaptation of Fool Night and the animated series Bass X Machina. The Apothecary Diaries and Black Clover are also named as returning favorites with new episodes.
Fool Night’s Difficult Choice
Fool Night is an adaptation of Kasumi Yasuda’s manga, scheduled to arrive on Netflix November 26. Its setting is a world where clouds have blocked the sun for a century, leaving oxygen and vegetation scarce.
Scientists use a process called Transfloration to turn people nearing the end of their lives into oxygen-producing plants known as Spiriflor. The story follows Toshiro Kamiya, who considers the procedure while struggling to support his sick mother.
Bass X Machina and Returning Stories
Bass X Machina is an adult animated series from South Korea’s Studio Mir, known for The Legend of Korra. The story combines Western action, steampunk and supernatural elements, following a father driven to extremes to protect his family.
The series is set to debut on Netflix November 3, with an ensemble led by Oscar nominee Brian Tyree Henry. Meanwhile, The Apothecary Diaries continues its third season, following Maomao as she investigates strange illnesses and rumors in the pleasure district.
