Affordable 2027 Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 Harkens Back to a Simpler Time

A classic name returns
The Sprint name recalls Harley-Davidson single-cylinder motorcycles sold in the 1960s and 1970s. The company’s early models also used single-cylinder engines, despite its longstanding association with V-twins. With the 2027 Sprint 440, Harley-Davidson is entering the affordable, lightweight motorcycle segment for U.S. riders. Comparable small-displacement offerings from Triumph and Royal Enfield have found strong showroom demand.
Engine and equipment
The Sprint 440 uses a 440cc, two-valve, air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine with fuel injection. It produces 27 horsepower and 28 pound-feet of torque, delivered through a six-speed transmission and slip-assist clutch.
The bike has 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast-aluminum wheels, along with disc brakes equipped with ABS. Its seat stands 26.4 inches high.
Modern features and options
A circular 3.5-inch color TFT display provides speed, engine speed, odometer and trip information, plus warning lights and turn signals. LED lighting is used for the headlight, taillight and turn signals, and a USB-C charging port sits above the headlight.
Harley-Davidson plans to offer accessories including a windshield, engine guard, saddlebags and skull-themed adornments. Multiple seat options will also be available to suit different fit preferences.
Pricing remains unconfirmed
Harley-Davidson previously estimated a price of around $6,000, but U.S. pricing has not been announced. The Canadian price is 8,499 CAD, equivalent to about $6,100 at current exchange rates. That Canadian price is roughly $1,000 above the 2027 Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and close to the price of Triumph’s 400 models.
