College GameDay Staying in Indiana: Notre Dame-Miami Heads to South Bend

GameDay heads to South Bend
ESPN announced Saturday that College GameDay will travel to South Bend ahead of next week’s Notre Dame-Miami game. The teams are ranked No. 5 and No. 1, respectively, and the contest will air on NBC and Peacock.
The broadcast is scheduled for 9 a.m. ET next Saturday. It follows GameDay’s visit to Bloomington for Indiana-Minnesota, giving the show two consecutive weeks in the Hoosier State.
A return to familiar ground
This will be GameDay’s 13th appearance in South Bend. The show first visited the Notre Dame campus in 1993 and was last there in 2024, before a Notre Dame-Indiana matchup.
It is the second time the program has covered a Notre Dame-Miami game. The teams first met with GameDay present in 2017, when Miami hosted and won 41-8.
A rematch with playoff stakes
This year’s game is a rematch of the 2025 contest, which determined the final College Football Playoff at-large selection. Miami received the spot after its head-to-head win, despite Notre Dame’s ranking for much of the season.
The teams meet again with Miami ranked No. 1 and Notre Dame No. 5, renewing a matchup with recent playoff implications.
McAfee’s Indiana homecoming
The back-to-back Indiana stops come after GameDay’s visit to Salt Lake City, where analyst Pat McAfee reacted to students lightly mocking him in a video. He picked against the Utes, said he hoped not to return, and compared his situation to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
McAfee’s road trip also included a stop in Provo. The upcoming Indiana visits give him an extended return to his homebase in the state.
