A Mexico vs. The World Card: boxing tonight as Canelo Alvarez faces Christian Mbilli — start time, card and how to watch

Alvarez returns for title shot

Alvarez is seeking to reclaim a former belt after losing his 168-pound titles to Terence Crawford in September 2025. Mbilli also fought on that Las Vegas card, drawing by split decision with Lester Martinez.

Both boxers are returning for the first time since that September event. Their fight in Riyadh is scheduled for 12 rounds for Mbilli’s WBC super middleweight title.

Co-main event changed

The card was initially set to feature Lindolfo Delgado against Arthur Biyarslanov for the vacant IBF super lightweight title. Delgado did not make the trip to Saudi Arabia, and the matchup fell apart during fight week.

WBA super middleweight champion Jaime Munguia instead takes the co-main event slot against undefeated Nikita Zon. Riyadh Season is promoting the bout as a title fight, but the WBA has not sanctioned it and does not list it on its website.

Espinoza defends featherweight belt

WBO featherweight champion Rafael Espinoza will defend his title against Ricardo Blandon in a 12-round undercard fight. It is Espinoza’s first appearance at a Ring-promoted event. Espinoza is the card’s biggest favorite, while Blandon enters on a four-fight winning streak. The 21-6 Nicaraguan has fought outside his home country three times before, losing all three bouts.

Start time and listed bouts

The card is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EST, or 10 a.m. PST. The main event ringwalks are expected at approximately 4:30 p.m. EST. The listed undercard also includes Carlos Emiliano Rojo Vazquez against Flavius Biea in an eight-round middleweight bout, and Sultan Almohammed against Erick Jahir Urvina Villegas in a six-round super featherweight bout.
