Walking Dead: Aftermath Officially Brings Back Glenn as a Playable Survivor

Glenn joins the game
Developer Ares Interactive unveiled Glenn’s Survivor File on October 18, outlining his abilities, weapons and combat mechanics. The release brings the character back in a game, nearly a decade after his death in the series.
Glenn is an Epic-rarity, Acid-based Shotgun Specialist who carries a tactical shotgun and throwing knives. His combat style favors close-to-medium range, with attacks that inflict additional Acid damage.
Abilities reward careful timing
His “Stand and Deliver” mechanic boosts Attack Speed and Damage when he holds his ground. But the shotgun takes a long time to reload, so players need to manage timing and positioning.
Upgrades can shorten reload times, add projectiles and trigger Acid explosions with throwing knives. His three-star Ultimate, “Hey, you. Dumbass.”, nods to his first encounter with Rick and grants combat bonuses after players reach a kill threshold.
A mobile game with familiar settings
The Walking Dead: Aftermath is a free-to-play mobile roguelite developed by Swift Games, an Ares Interactive studio, in partnership with AMC. Released in July 2026, it lets players control survivors including Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Maggie as they face walkers and hostile humans.
Players can gather resources, build a base, progress weapons and choose randomized upgrades. The game also features locations including Hershel’s Farm, Woodbury and Alexandria. An October update added a competitive PvP mode.
Player ratings and reception
On Google Play, the game has a 4.6/5 rating from nearly 50,000 ratings and more than one million downloads. The Apple App Store rating is 4.8/5 from approximately 4,800 ratings.
The article describes reception among mobile players as positive. Glenn’s addition gives longtime fans another familiar character to use in the game.
