Deadspin: Rays Rally in 12th Inning to Extend World Series, Force Game 5 After 2 Runs

Rays answer late Brewers lead
Milwaukee rookie Cooper Pratt opened the 12th with a home run, putting the Brewers ahead 3-2. The blast capped his four-hit game and followed his RBI double in the fourth.
Tampa Bay began its response when Junior Caminero reached on Joey Ortiz’s throwing error, sending pitcher Antonio Senzatela out of the game. Liam Hicks singled against reliever Shane Drohan, placing runners at the corners.
Jonny DeLuca singled to bring home pinch runner Cedric Mullins and tie the score. Chandler Simpson then singled to load the bases, setting up Williamson’s game-winning hit to right field, which scored Nick Fortes.
Scoring before extra innings
The Rays took the lead in the second when Simpson doubled home DeLuca, who had reached on a fielder’s choice. In the fourth, Sal Frelick scored on Pratt’s double to make it 1-1.
Tampa Bay went back in front later in the fourth after Hamilton’s errant throw toward first allowed Caminero to score from second. Hamilton made up for the mistake in the fifth, homering off Griffin Jax to tie the game 2-2.
Series remains in Milwaukee’s favor
The Brewers still lead the best-of-seven matchup 3-1, despite letting their 12th-inning advantage slip away. The loss delayed their chance to claim a first World Series title, while the Rays stayed alive with the win.
