Netflix’s Slow Horses Replacement Thriller Series Releases Six Episodes in 1 Week
Black Doves returns to Netflix
Black Doves stars Keira Knightley as Helen Webb, a woman who secretly works for the Black Doves organization. She gathers secret intelligence and sells it to the highest bidder.
The first season arrived on Netflix on December 5, 2024. Season 2 is scheduled to debut November 5, with all six episodes available at once.
A pause before Slow Horses returns
Slow Horses season 6 ended with its finale on Apple TV on October 21. Its seventh season is expected in 2027, leaving viewers a wait before the series returns.
Both shows have six-episode seasons and are British espionage dramas set in London. They also tell gritty, high-stakes stories centered on imperfect agents.
Different release plans and futures
Slow Horses has maintained an annual release schedule and has already been renewed for seasons 7 and 8. The show adapts Mick Herron’s spy novels, giving it source material for future seasons.
Black Doves has had a two-year gap between its first two seasons and had not been renewed for season 3 at the time of writing. It is an original series, not based on novels.
